Why it matters
Peer-to-peer reaches people you could never reach yourself. A gift made because a friend asked is a real gift to your organization, and that donor is someone you now have a chance to steward.
The work is in the follow-through: thank the fundraisers as well as the donors, give fundraisers simple words to send, and decide what a fundraiser is allowed to see about the people who gave through their page.
How Steward shows it
In Steward a peer-to-peer campaign is a giving page with peer-to-peer turned on. Supporters sign up for their own page, can start or join teams, and every gift counts toward the one page total. The fundraiser gets a soft credit, and the gift stays on the donor who gave it.
A fundraiser never sees a donor's email, and sees a donor's name only if that donor chose to share it. Steward emails none of a fundraiser's contacts: the draft messages are words the fundraiser sends from their own email.
