Search
The search box at the top of every screen finds any record in your organization: people, gifts, notes, meetings, campaigns, events, grants and more.
What this screen is for
The search box sits in the top bar of every screen. Press ⌘K on a Mac, iPhone or iPad, or Ctrl K everywhere else, to jump to it from anywhere. On a phone, tap the magnifying glass at the top. It looks across everything your organization keeps: people (by name, email, phone or an organization's contact person), households, campaigns and appeals, events, giving pages, peer-to-peer pages, grants, auctions, membership levels, open tasks, saved reports and dashboards, past board reports, documents by file name, gifts, monthly plans, pledges, journeys, meetings, emails, notes and imports.
Find a person
- Press ⌘K or Ctrl K, or click the search box.
- Type part of a name, an email or a phone number. Two characters are enough to start.
- Pick the person from the list to open their record.
Find a gift by amount or date
- Type an amount, such as "$500", to see gifts, pledges and monthly plans of that amount.
- Type a day, such as "Oct 3", to see that day's gifts and meetings.
- Type a name and the word "gift", such as "Rafael gift", to see that person's gifts.
See everything of one kind
- Each group shows its first few results.
- Click "See all" on a group to see up to fifty of that kind.
What Steward doesn't do here
Search only ever looks in your own organization. Deleted records do not show: a person who was deleted takes their gifts, plans, pledges, meetings, emails and notes out of search with them, and an archived journey is left out. A volunteer coordinator does not have search, because almost everything it finds carries giving. Searching never changes anything.
