Engagement score

Engagement score means a number that sums up how involved a person is with your organization, based on actions such as meetings, event attendance, volunteering, calls and email replies, with recent actions usually counting more.

Why it matters

Giving totals only show part of a relationship. A donor who gives modestly but comes to every event and volunteers each month is closer to you than their gifts suggest, and is often your best prospect for a larger gift or a board seat.

A score is only useful if you can see how it was worked out. If nobody on the team can explain why a donor scored what they did, the number will be ignored, or worse, trusted when it is wrong.

How Steward shows it

Each profile shows an engagement score and a generosity score, both from 0 to 100 and measured against your own people. Engagement counts meetings, events attended, calls, email replies, survey answers, volunteer shifts and newsletter opens and clicks from the last 24 months, with recent touches counting most.

"See why" shows how each score was worked out, and every part opens the rows behind it. Under the name, a closeness word (Close, Warm, Cooling or New) says the same thing in plain language.
