Ask your file

Ask your file a plain question.

Type what you would ask a colleague: how much did we raise in September, who are my top twenty donors this year, how many monthly donors do we have and what is that a month. Steward answers in one sentence, and every number opens the gifts and people behind it.

The problem

Most reporting answers the question it was built for. The question a director actually has on a Monday morning is usually a slightly different one, and it ends in an export.

How it works

Three steps, no manual.

01

Ask in your own words

Totals, comparisons, breakdowns by fund, month or campaign, top donors, new donors, retention, monthly giving, pledges, volunteer hours.

02

Follow up

"And last year?", "only monthly donors", "just the ones in Marblehead", "who are they?" all build on the last answer.

03

Act on it

Plan the calls, open the campaign, pin the answer to Home or add it to a board dashboard.

What it looks like.

A real screen from Steward with example data.

What's included

Ask your file, included.

FAQ

Good questions.

[ 1 ]Does a model make up the numbers?

No. The question is turned into a plan Steward can check, and Steward computes every number from your own records. A number the model writes in its own words is never shown.

[ 2 ]What happens when it cannot answer?

It says so in one sentence, for example that it cannot break giving down by donor age, and the question is noted.

[ 3 ]Does it work with AI turned off?

Yes. The common questions are read without a model and answer the same way.

[ 4 ]Can I see what it counted?

Every answer says exactly what was counted, and every number opens its rows.
